Responsibilities
Design and build internal API platform and gateway infrastructure
Implement API versioning, rate limiting, and documentation systems
Build developer portals and SDK generation pipelines
Create and enforce API design standards (OpenAPI, AsyncAPI)
Monitor API performance and implement SLA tracking
Collaborate with product teams on API strategy
Requirements
5+ years of backend development experience
Strong experience with API gateway tools (Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway)
Knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger specification and tooling
Experience with GraphQL and REST API design
Understanding of API security (OAuth2, API keys, CORS)
Experience with monitoring and observability tools
Nice to Have
Experience with API marketplace platforms
Knowledge of AsyncAPI for event-driven APIs
Experience with developer portal tools
