Responsibilities
Build and maintain cloud cost dashboards and reporting using native tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management) and FinOps platforms
Implement automated cost optimization strategies including reserved instances, savings plans, and spot instance management
Develop chargeback and showback models to allocate cloud costs to business units and engineering teams
Identify and execute rightsizing recommendations for compute, storage, and database resources across cloud accounts
Establish FinOps processes including budgeting, forecasting, anomaly detection, and cost governance policies
Collaborate with engineering teams to embed cost awareness into architecture decisions and CI/CD pipelines
Requirements
3-6 years of cloud engineering or financial operations experience with strong FinOps focus
Deep understanding of cloud pricing models across AWS, Azure, or GCP including reserved/committed pricing
Experience with FinOps tools and platforms (CloudHealth, Spot.io, Kubecost, or native cloud cost tools)
Strong analytical skills with ability to build cost models, forecasts, and optimization business cases
Proficiency in Python or SQL for cost data analysis, automation, and custom reporting
Understanding of cloud architecture patterns and their cost implications (serverless vs containers vs VMs)
Nice to Have
FinOps Foundation Certified Practitioner certification
Experience with Kubernetes cost management using Kubecost or OpenCost
