Responsibilities

Own the cloud infrastructure strategy across AWS, Azure, and GCP, managing a $2M+ annual cloud spend with a focus on cost optimization, reserved capacity planning, and FinOps maturity
Lead a team of 20+ SREs, DevOps engineers, and platform engineers to build self-service developer platforms, automated provisioning, and infrastructure-as-code pipelines
Design and enforce SLA/SLO frameworks achieving 99.99% availability for production systems, with comprehensive incident management, post-mortem processes, and chaos engineering programs
Architect multi-region, multi-tenant infrastructure supporting enterprise clients with strict data residency, compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR), and disaster recovery requirements
Drive platform modernization initiatives including Kubernetes adoption, service mesh implementation, observability stack upgrades, and zero-trust network architecture
Collaborate with engineering, security, and product teams to establish golden paths for deployment, reducing time-to-production for new services from weeks to hours

Requirements

12+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud operations, or platform engineering with at least 4 years in Director or Senior Manager roles
Expert-level knowledge of AWS (or Azure/GCP) including networking, compute, storage, security services, and cost management tools
Extensive experience with Kubernetes orchestration at scale, including multi-cluster management, service mesh (Istio/Linkerd), and GitOps workflows
Strong background in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi), configuration management, and automated compliance-as-code frameworks
Proven ability to manage cloud budgets exceeding $1M annually while improving performance and reliability metrics year over year
Experience achieving and maintaining compliance certifications (SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, HIPAA) for cloud infrastructure

Nice to Have

AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Google Cloud Professional Architect, or equivalent certifications
Experience building internal developer platforms (IDPs) with backstage.io or similar frameworks
