Responsibilities
Define and own the organization-wide release strategy including branching models, versioning, and release cadences
Build and maintain enterprise CI/CD platforms supporting thousands of daily builds and hundreds of deployments
Implement progressive delivery capabilities including feature flags, canary deployments, and automated rollback systems
Lead a team of release engineers, providing mentorship on build systems, artifact management, and deployment automation
Establish release quality gates including automated testing, security scanning, and performance benchmarks
Drive continuous improvement in DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, MTTR)
Requirements
8-12 years of software engineering or DevOps experience with at least 3 years in release engineering leadership
Expert knowledge of CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and build systems at enterprise scale
Deep experience with artifact management, container registries, and software supply chain security (SLSA, Sigstore)
Strong understanding of progressive delivery patterns and feature management platforms (LaunchDarkly, Flagsmith)
Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring engineering teams with focus on developer productivity
Excellent stakeholder management skills for coordinating releases across multiple product and platform teams
Nice to Have
Experience with monorepo build tools like Bazel, Nx, or Turborepo
Background in software supply chain security and SBOM generation
